RE: Vectors Crash Course During March Holidays

Dear parents,

As you are probably aware, different JCs choose to teach different topic at different points in time in year 1. As mine is a class tuition, I cannot be teaching different topics at the same time. My strategy is to cover as many relevant topics as possible in the first year so as to prepare all of them well for the promotional exams at the end of the year. In order to cover the topics well and still have ample time for revision, I will need to make use of the school holidays to catch-up with the schools.

Vectors is one of the most challenging topics in the H2 Math syllabus. Most schools will cover this topic during year 1; some do it in the first half, others do it in the second half. There are also a few schools which will cover it only in year 2. To make matter worse, most JC1 students would not have any knowledge of Vectors because it was taken out of syllabus for the 2021 GCE O level E. Math examinations due to the Covid-19 situation.

Because this is a heavy-weightage topic and one that cannot depend on last-minute preparation, I have decided to use this March holiday to cover the entire topic. It will be a two-full-day crash course during the March holiday but at the end of it, students will have a good grasp of the challenging topic. The schedule for the Vectors Crash Course is:

Day 1: 14 March 2022 (Mon) 9:30am to 3:00pm at Bukit Timah. (4 hours 45 min)

Day 2: 15 March 2022 (Tue) 9:30am to 3:00pm at Bukit Timah. (4 hours 45 min)

There will be a lunch break from 12:00pm to 12:45pm on both days. Total contact time will be a minimum of 9 hours, which is more than 4 regular lessons. As usual, students can choose to attend the lesson online or onsite at Bukit Timah.

Even though the total contact time is more than 8 hours, the fee for this crash course will be the same as the fee for 4 lessons. The fee will be added to your account automatically.

This crash course is compulsory for all JC1 students. Students from ACJC, VJC or RVHS can request for exemption because students from these schools will learn vectors in year 2 and they will have to join the crash course next March.

Thank you for your attention in this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,
