Over the past 18 years or so, we've heard this many many times over. It is not about the quantity but the quality.

What good does it do if the student practices the same type of questions 10 times?

What good does it do if the student can solve the question but does not understand what he is doing?

Once upon a time, when you can do the whole TYS, you can more or less score at least a B. 😲

Not anymore! Finishing the TYS guarantees a pass but not a distinction anymore. Students are tested on their understanding of concepts rather than simply regurgitating what they have practiced 20 times before.

At Number Skill, we focus on teaching the concepts clearly so that no matter how the questions are twisted, they can solve them. Our students not only can solve problems promptly, they understand what they are doing. This is a very important skill to have going into the exams.

After searching for a long time, we're happy to have Dr Ng Yee Hong joining our Number Skill family.

Dr Ng Yee Hong 👨🏼‍🎓 has a First Class Honours in Chemistry and a PhD in Chemistry from NUS. He will be teaching our JC H2 Chemistry classes.

Dr Ng’s teaching experience includes teaching undergraduate at the university level, tuition classes at a well known tuition centre as well as private tutoring. More importantly, he is able to deliver the high standard of what Number Skill has come to be known for. It is difficult to find someone as qualified as Dr Ng but it is even more challenging to find a PhD tutor who shares the same values as us.

You will enjoy a 20% discount on the regular fee every month when you sign up for our Chemistry class in addition to our Math class. If you are the first four who sign up, the $80 material will be waived too.

As we step out of circuit breaker and return to school, there will be tests and exams coming soon. Better to start revising and be prepared. We will be conducting a revision test for all our JC1 (A-level H2 Math) students.

Since the schools are not able to conduct Mid Year Exam, we offer ours to anyone who wants to be tested. For free!
The response was overwhelming. Now that we are doing it virtually, we are no longer constrained by venue size!
We are collecting feedback. So far it is very encouraging. All felt that they really learnt something and the session was useful. If it is helpful for students, we may just do it again!

It has been more than a month since we moved our c

It has been more than a month since we moved our classes online. The response is nothing short of encouraging.
Survey result has shown that 💯% of our students find the virtual classes effective for their learning.
In fact, a handful of students and parents like it more than in-person lessons and are even asking if these virtual classes will continue after CB is lifted!
We are thankful to our students and parents for their support during this period.
We're also glad that we haven't disappoint them.
As we continuously try to improve the quality of our lessons, we've moved to using Microsoft Teams and Class Notebook for our virtual classes. Many universities are using this platform for their off-site learning. It is definitely more suitable for education than Zoom. We're probably the first and only tuition centre using Teams and Class Notebook for our virtual classes.
As we stay safe, stay healthy and stay at home during this difficult period, our lessons also stay effective!

Besides sanitizing our centre after every class, we are proud to be one of the few tuition centres which already have the capability to record and/or live stream our lessons.
Our students can stay at home and still not miss any lesson if need be.
We are ready. Our students will be ready for the exams too!
